Netcool: A tool to keep the pager at bay
Netcool is a very effective tool for alert management.
Netcool has a web site you can refer to. We really like using it to reformat and sort alerts generated by syslog and/or snmp traps. This allows us to implement policies for particular types of alerts, and escalate (or not) as required.
